Anyone install the game rift and have it ruin their hard drive?

Last night i bought Rift installed it and briefly played. This morning I found my computer hard frozen, so i un-plug it. I was unable to log on and the comp refused to boot. I did i few system restores followed by a system recovery. My comp boots now but has a minor lag to it. After playing around with it a little I try to install rift again (unaware that it may be the culprit) Everything is ok untill about 60% through the mive 8g patch. My comp locks up again! I am not really looking for advice as much as I am looking for someone who has had similar issues. So I know who to blame.
