How do you approach your spouse about getting checked for early onset Alzheimer's?

My wife is always losing her keys and forgetting her cell phone. Her maternal grandmother has Alzheimer's. I'm just trying to figure out if my wife is just being forgetful or if it is more serious. How do you tell the difference? I want her to get tested, but how do you approach someone about it without being a blow to the ego.
