Should I read Scott Pilgrim comic?

So i've been interested in the Scott Pilgrim comic series for a while, since i first heard a movie was being made with Michael Cera about 1 or 2 years ago. I just saw the trailer and it looks really good. So I'm wondering if its a good comic for someone who doesn't really like reading comics. I'm more of a book reader (hate twilight with a pion) so I'm pretty much in it for the story aspect. Should I just wait for the movie or read the comic? Would they have it at the library? If not is there any books you can suggest with that sort of fantasy, supernatural, quirky humor type story. Thanks.
