Moth problem! Eww!?

I have a moth problem in my livingroom! It started out I thought how in the world is there maggots on the livingroom ceiling!? That's right on the ceiling! But now they are moths and ofcourse more of the maggot looking things... What in the world would they be attracted to up there! And please tell me how to get rid of them! "cheap" ways!! I am seriously freaked out by all bugs! So I'm of course freaking..ohh and a small child lives here so nothing harmful to her! thanks!
