My female ferret is leaving raw marks on the male what do i do?

my ferrets are about 9 months old they share a very large cage that they are only in at night. at night we put them in and relax my female will bile the male and fling him around the cage and leaves raw marks all over him we have tried to separate them and it doesn't work what do i do?
